How would you test a clear colourless liquid to see if it was safe to drink?

Ask your younger brother to drink it.How would you test a clear colourless liquid to see if it was safe to drink?
Smell it, if it has no smell, boil it. If it boils at 100 degrees c then it's waterHow would you test a clear colourless liquid to see if it was safe to drink?
Dip a frog in it and see if it lives!
Put some pH paper in it.

Or if you are out of that see if the Dog will drink it, if not then dont go near it
Drink it first, if you die then it was not safe.
I'd give to you and force you to down it...
1) Measure it's specific gravity

2) Test it's acidity

3) Find it's freezing and melting points
Use litmus paper to test for pH.

See if the liquid is flammable.

Weigh it and compare the weight to a similar volume of water

Check to see if it will dissolve salt (many organic solvents will not dissolve sodium chloride salt).

Test its boiling point.

If it passes all tests, see if an animal will drink it.
make your side kick taste it.
There is too much uncertainty. If you are not sure what it is is it worth drinking?

You cannot drink pure water either - that can kill you.
Ask your mate to drink it
There is NO way to do that test. Unless, you can test for EVERY possible thing that could be dangerous which you cannot. If it contained peanut extract for example and you gave it to 10,000 people who were not allergic to it then it would appear ';safe';. If you are allergic to peanuts, you would drink it and die. There is NO such thing as safe. There is only safer. This is not a perfect world. Knowing 99.999% that is is OK does not make it a sure thing.
i would use universal indicator paper or dye - if it turns green u know pH is neutral at 7 and u can prob drink it as it's water, if it's red it's acidic and if it turns blue it's alkali
Process of eliminations:

1. test for pH 7, if yes:

2. weigh 500ml - it should weigh exactly 9 grams, if so:

3. boil it, and if its boiling point is 100 degrees C then:

4. freeze it, and if its freezing point is 0 degrees AND the ice floats on the original liquid, then in all probability it is water.

Other wise dump it.
if it's clear and colorless.. and you don't know what is is.. DONT DRINK IT...
give it to my husband
smell it
I would get my friend to drink it and if after 12 hours he/she was ok then I would drink it!
Ask a friend to drink it?
Invite someone you don't like round for a 'drink', lol
Smell It
Smell it? Ask yourself are you sooooo desperate for a drink.
A chemical testing kit?
if uv got a mother inlaw give it 2 her if its bad let me no wot it is pleeeaaassssse
litmus paper i think
you can't... remember that what looks like water could be nitroglycerine...
ph paper, its really cheap and accurrate
Chance it. It's probably Ok. You want to live forever.
