This morning i took clear blue digital test and it said PREGNANT!! Could It be a false positive.?

I would say you're definitly pregnant!!


I dont know of anyone ever getting a false positive, because the test detects the hormone that a pregnant womens body produces.

Pregnancy tests all have different sensitivities, and sometimes the home ones are better than the ones at the doctor's office, that being said, all pregnancy tests look for a hormone which is only present when you are pregnant, so it is much more likely that you had a false negative on the doctor's test, than a false positive on the home one. Not to mention, the digital tests are pretty fool proof, so its not like you are just interpreting the lines wrong or anything. I also had negative tests from the doctor, but tested positive on a clearblue digital. Eventually i got a positive on the doctor's tests, it just took longer, and now i am 29 weeks pregnant with a baby boy. Good luck!
You dont get false positive test only false negative.
Your best bet would be to go to your doctor and have an HCG test now to double confirm that you are pregnant. I only used the urine as a starting off point, not a true confirmation.
I don' trust those clear blue tests. I know 3 different women that have taken them and gotten false positives. And that's pretty hard to do. I always use either First response or Ept. Good luck, hope you get the result you want.

theres more liklihood of getting a false negative than a false positive. seeing as how the lab at the drs office uses the same litmus strip thats inside the clear blue, i dont see how they should differ. Its a hormone thats detected, but the blood test should tell you for sure. I think you might be pregnant, just because its really rare to have a false positive. Ive never done a pregnancy test on a patient that was a false positive. every positive was indeed positive. and all we use is a strip that we dip in pee- the same strip in all pregnancy tests. and from what im told, the clear blue and the ept are very sensitive to the hormone- you could get a faster yes with those than just the plain ol litmus used at the dr. however, blood will definatley tell you.
If you used first morning urine when taking the Clear Blue test, the hcg concentration would have been higher. I'm assuming you used second morning urine (or later) when taking the test at the doctor's office in which case your urine was more diluted and less likely to show up as a positive in early pregnancy.
