it could, but that far after your period is late, it should be right. just last week i was going through the same thing, my period was 6 days late, but i swore the tests were wrong. i was wrong and i got my period on the 6th night of my period being M.I.A. wait a few more days and if still nothing, call the dr.
I would think so, if you are only 5 days late, you should try 1st response, it can tell you 5 days before your missed period. It worked for me when I used it when I was pregnant with my son. I used that 2 days after being late and sure enough positive.
try a test again because they can be wrong, but ur period may be late
