The test came up as negative after 1-2mins and then we put the stick aside, disappointed. We didn't throw the stick in the rubbish. A few days later, we looked at the stick again and found there are indeed 2 lines now. Read the directions. Every one is different. If it says 3-10 minutes, that's when you have to read it, otherwise it's not valid.

I know it's hard but try sitting the test stick aside, somewhere where you wont be tempted to read it to soon, and wait at least five minutes to make sure you're getting the correct answer. A minute is not long enough to develop a correct enough answer
The directions normally say do not look at the test after about 10 min. Any time after that the test is void. The extra line doesnt mean your pregnant - if you want to take a new test and see that is your best bet.
Most tests say to read the result within ten minutes. This is because many tests show positive after they've been sitting too long. Read the instructions and then test again just to be sure.
I would always wait 10 min after taking a pregnancy test. If not sure about the test either buy another one to compare the results, or go to a dr.
The 2nd line might've actually been there to begin with but very faint..that's what happened to me.
